Our Facilities Consultants are responsible for performing assessment services in a fast-paced, highly efficient environment. Degree in Architecture or Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or professional facilities management experience. Engineering candidates will ideally have crossover experience between ME and EE. 5-10 years of facilities management-related experience; strong working knowledge of building systems in one or more architectural, mechanical or electrical engineering disciplines; strong computer, technical and cost-estimating skills; US and international travel required (mostly North America); willingness to work on a contract basis with no benefits.

Project Manager
VFA, the leader in facility capital planning and management solutions, is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our professional services team. Candidates must possess strong consultative and project management skills. The ideal candidate has several years of experience successfully helping close and leading multiple, concurrently running service-oriented projects on a national level. The candidate will actively participate in the pre-sales process and oversee existing projects including facility condition assessments, training, and other related consulting services.
This position will require but not be limited to the following roles: Assist sales and other company personnel in the positioning of services; manage client relationship during project including all client and internal communications, change order processes, project initiation and close-out; daily management of projects including transfer from sales representative, team assembly and coordination, scheduling, monthly invoicing, cost controls, staff and revenue forecasting and submission of all deliverables to client; ensure quality of product is delivered to client; including monitoring of assessment procedures, data entry, and database quality control procedures; oversee and provide project support and direction to assessment staff; review and have solid working knowledge of building systems in the areas of architectural, mechanical and electrical engineering disciplines; interface with VFA assessment staff, other project managers, directors and software engineers; technical mentoring of field staff.
Requirements: Degree in architectural or engineering discipline, or project management. 5 to 10 years project management experience. Previous experience in facility management related fields and managing condition assessments a plus; strong knowledge of computer skills including Microsoft applications, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Project, and internet based applications and strong typing skills; ability to manage multiple projects of varying size simultaneously; strong verbal and written communication skills and presentation skills; prior success supporting a direct sales team in a pre-sales or subject matter expert capacity is strongly desired; some U.S. and International travel (approx. 20%) is expected.

Training Specialist (Boston Office)
Under minimal supervision the Training Specialist is responsible for delivering technical training programs to company personnel as well as client user communities. They also may participate in the design and development and/or updating of technical training programs and supporting materials.
Essential Functions: Delivers technical training programs and supporting materials using appropriate training methods, multimedia and course/curriculum materials including synchronous and asynchronous web-based training programs; Trains user community or company personnel on the installation, operation and maintenance of the company’s computer software products and/or new applications; Participates in the design, development, and/or updating of training programs and supporting materials such as training guides, laboratory exercises, exams, and other handouts consistent with product updates and releases; Presents training programs at customer, company or field locations; Maintains records of training programs and user progress as well as feedback on training effectiveness; Coordinates scheduling and logistics of training sessions. Maintains records of training programs as well as user feedback on training effectiveness; May support other departments with insight gained from customer interactions.
Requirements: BA/BS degree in Education or Computer Science or 4 - 6 years or directly related experience;
Must be thoroughly knowledgeable of and have experience on training on software products, including Access and or Oracle based products;
Must have previous experience in Internet based programs; Must have previous experience in development of training materials; Must have successfully delivered synchronous web-based programs; Experience delivering training via an LMS a plus; Experienced in Facilities Management and/or concepts of Capital Planning Management Solutions a plus; Foreign Language skills (French) are also a plus.
Other Requirements: Travel is required. Requirements will vary but may be up to 75% of the time. Travel will also involve international destinations.

Software Development
Oracle Developer/Application DBA (Boston Office)
The Oracle Developer/Application DBA is responsible for supporting VFA’s SaaS (hosted software) solutions for our customers and internal end-users. In addition to providing support to the software development team, including writing code and developing processes to improve efficiency in repeatable activities or supplement our Application’s features, the position’s responsibilities will include database server installations, migrations, upgrades, patches, user maintenance, troubleshooting, backup management, performance tuning, table space management, data recovery, as well as other data-related duties that may be assigned. The incumbent will be required to perform application support tasks that are repeatable. Examples of these types of task would be data recovery from user error, migrating data between production, test, and development environments on a regular basis, and writing and running scripts to bulk manage data via direct SQL / PLSQL updates. The incumbent will be asked to support the application of schema structure changes, data migration, or Oracle patch updates. The incumbent will be required to perform certain updates and patching work during non-core business hours (i.e. nights and weekends) and will share 24 x 7 support.
Essential Functions: Provide support to the Software Development Team (writing code, developing processes, etc.); SQL/PLSQL scripting; Shell scripting; Database monitoring; Database / query tuning; Database backup and recovery using RMAN
Requirements: A minimum of 2-5 years of Oracle Development and/or DBA experience in Oracle 10g and associated utilities; Experience managing Oracle on both Linux and Windows showing growth in scope and responsibility; Experience automating developer processes; Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager / OEM Grid Control desirable; Strong troubleshooting skills within the entire database environment; Strong knowledge Oracle RMAN, experience a plus; Strong knowledge of Oracle data recovery techniques; Ability to participate in and perform database capacity planning; Knowledge in SuSe Linux System Administration, experience a plus; Exhibits good project management skills including estimating, status reporting and scope management; Exhibits solid organization skills and the ability to efficiently multi-task; A customer-support focused attitude; Occasional travel to client locations will be required.

Senior Software QA Engineer
Position Summary: Under minimum supervision the incumbent designs, prepares, documents, and executes software quality assurance testing of all VFA developed software products.
Essential Functions: Designs, prepares, documents, and executes software quality assurance test strategies and plans; Uses industry accepted testing methodologies to ensure software performance is at or above desired levels; Creates simulation environments to test products used within typical customer circumstances; Collaborates with product development and product management throughout the development lifecycle; Analyzes, tracks, and reports on application issues and maintains documentation on project issues and defect metrics; Will assist management in establishing quality assurance standards; May be assigned additional tasks as deemed appropriate by management
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science with 4 – 7 years of practical experience working at this level; Requires a working knowledge of quality assurance methodologies; Requires experience using bug tracking software; Requires experience developing, executing and maintaining automated test scripts; Must have knowledge of software architectures and related software platforms; Experience with agile software development methodology desired; Sound judgment is required to plan and accomplish goals; Strong communication skills as well as the ability to work independently or in a cooperative team oriented setting are also required; Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Senior Software Engineer
Position Summary: The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the VFA software applications and programs required to meet the Company’s business objectives. There is an emphasis on front-end web UI development.

Marketing Programs Manager
Position Summary:
The Marketing Programs Manager is responsible for the planning, development, and execution of integrated marketing programs and campaigns encompassing direct, event, and electronic marketing vehicles with the goal of increasing client and prospect leads and pipeline opportunities.
Essential Functions: Plans, develops, and executes tactical marketing programs and strategic multi-touch marketing campaigns to meet business objectives - to include email programs, webinars, and seminars; Recommends program strategies and plans program calendar in conjunction with the other members of MARCOM team, product marketing, and sales; Takes a leadership role in developing program content, message and style; Reports on program metrics and ensures that the results of individual events and overall programs are measured and that results are reported to senior management; Recommends and executes activities associated with list development and/or list acquisition, including database management; Works with inside sales team to support successful targeted calling programs; Manages partner marketing programs in support of the Business Development Director; Generates ideas for new marketing programs or measures to improve existing programs.
Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Marketing or equivalent plus a minimum of 5 years experience developing and running marketing programs, including email marketing, webinars and seminars, preferably in the software or another high tech industry; Proven success in the development of business to business lead generation programs; Strong PC skills and high comfort level with technology; experience with Salesforce.com and Eloqua lead/campaign management software strongly preferred; Experience marketing to a host of prospects including Fortune 500 companies across multiple industries as well as to government agencies, hospitals, and college and university markets; Experience with partner marketing; Self-starter, highly motivated and capable of working independently within a team; Excellent organization, written and verbal communication and prioritization skills are essential.

Marketing Communications Specialist
Position Summary:
The Marketing Communications Specialist works under minimal supervision to coordinate and execute numerous marketing events such as trade shows, webinars and customer events. The person coordinates PR activities and manages the company’s speaking opportunities calendar. The person oversees the company’s collateral system and contributes to the development of new collateral, and manages the company's social media presence. The Marketing Communications Specialist may also be assigned additional project work or responsibilities on a periodic basis.
Essential Functions: Manage all VFA events in a busy annual schedule, including numerous trade shows, seminars, webinars, and customer events, with attention to detail in all aspects of event production; Coordinate the activities of corporate PR program and external PR services, including coordinating the press release pipeline and the approval process, drafting press releases and byline articles; Manage the speaking opportunities calendar, including drafting abstracts, meeting submission deadlines, and assisting speakers with presentation development; Manage collateral system as well as the development of new collateral, including writing case studies, editing white papers, and laying out the final design; Manage the company's social media presence, including developing content and gathering metrics; Operate under minimal guidance and supervision from the Director of Marketing Communications with extensive creativity and latitude for independent actions
Qualifications: BA/BS Degree in Communications or Marketing is preferred plus 3-5 years of event marketing and public relations experience; Strong communications skills with specific emphasis on writing and editorial abilities; Strong organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to work within and exceed in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment is required; Expert in the use of MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, and in Adobe InDesign; Experience with other applications or software products such as collateral management systems and marketing automation systems. Experience with Salesforce.com or similar CRM application is a plus. Marketing Systems Specialist
Position Summary:
70% - Manages the company’s presence on the internet, including its interface with the Internet on the World Wide Web, its web page(s) and related electronic marketing campaigns which are managed through the Eloqua marketing automation system, integrated with Salesforce.com. Ensures that the interface is as effective as possible and accurately & consistently reflects the company’s desired image and message.
30% - Administers the company’s information technology systems and tools that are used extensively in the Marketing department (Eloqua, Salesforce.com, among others). Produces regular management and marketing reports using Salesforce.com.
Essential Functions: Organize, design, and manage the company's interface with the Internet on the World Wide Web to ensure that the company's web site accurately and creatively reflects the company's marketing message; Designs, implements, tests, edits, maintains, documents and controls the site’s content, look, flow and overall user experience; Ensures web content is current, working with marketing department personnel (marcom and product marketing); Performs web site analysis, reports on analytics, and makes changes and recommendations based on the resulting conclusions. Supports SEO and SEM efforts, working with outside vendor; Designs and implements outbound, electronic marketing programs using Eloqua while using established best practices to target audiences and increase response rates; Consults with management on the best use of the Internet as a communication tool for customers, employees, stockholders and others. Acts as liaison between site and user; Develops and produces management and marketing reports from Salesforce.com on a regular basis.
Qualifications: BS degree in Marketing plus 5 or more years of related experience in marketing automation and CRM systems (Eloqua and Salesforce.com); Requires thorough knowledge of HTML, JavaScript, and other web site design-related applications and development languages and protocols. Dreamweaver and Photoshop experience helpful.; Requires knowledge of Salesforce.com, including reporting, report writer tools, dashboards, and database analysis features; Requires knowledge of Eloqua (Team Edition), particularly batch email, lists, Program Builder, forms, and reporting. Knowledge of hypersites, activity-generated content, and integration with Salesforce.com a big plus; Experience with SEO practices; Experience in developing and implementing communications and outreach programs to reach targeted audiences; Strong analytical, problem solving and technical skills are required; Ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels and from departments throughout the company.
