VFA Webinar
Building the Case for Funding Capital Improvements
A Special Web Presentation for K-12 School Systems
How will your educational system fund planned capital improvements this year, and in the years ahead?
K-12 school systems face many challenges when it comes to managing the maintenance and renewal of their facilities. Aging building infrastructure, skyrocketing energy costs, mandates (often unfunded) to promote sustainability, and competition from new construction projects are a few of the issues your organization may be facing.
Join VFA for this special web presentation to learn how K-12 school systems are developing long-range plans, effectively demonstrating the need for funding, and proactively managing asset lifecycle needs.
Through case studies, we’ll describe:
- How a school district with a rapidly growing population kept track of renewal and maintenance needs and generated objective and accurate reports to justify funding requests;
- How a Department of Education created a long-range facilities plan based on enrollment projections, demographic data and identified facility renewal requirements.
- How a school district was able to fund deferred maintenance and critical capital renewal programs through savings gleaned from energy performance contracts
