VFA provides targeted assessments focused on special areas or industry-specific needs, either in tandem with a detailed condition assessment, or as a standalone service.

Green Building Assessment Services

VFA identifies the best opportunities for enhancing the sustainability of an organization’s existing buildings and sites. By determining the associated costs and expected impact of these initiatives, VFA helps organizations optimize the investments they make to support sustainable facilities. Our assessment teams focus on five key areas of sustainable buildings consistent with guidelines for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design for Existing Buildings (LEED®-EB): Energy Efficiency, Water Conservation, Indoor Air Quality and Environment, Site Sustainability, and Materials and Construction.

Federal Real Property Asset Inventory

VFA assists federal organizations in complying with federal real property management requirements, conducting inventories of property assets as required under Executive Order 13327. The VFA.auditor® Federal Real Property Asset Management Survey may be used by VFA assessors or a federal organization’s own employees to facilitate the process of documenting asset information. VFA can combine asset audits with more detailed condition assessments, and also provides assistance in the development of Asset Management Plans.

Energy Assessment Services

Organizations are increasingly faced with mandates to reduce energy use, often without funding for energy-efficiency related improvements. A VFA Energy Assessment evaluates potential energy conservation measures for a building or an entire portfolio, based on both energy savings and cost savings, and provides recommendations.

VFA provides Energy Assessment Services as a standalone service or as a part of a Green Building or Facility Condition Assessment, enabling organizations to integrate energy savings initiatives into their capital and operating plans, and to understand how energy cost savings can be used to fund needed improvements and renewals over time.

Seismic Assessment Service

VFA provides a Seismic Assessment Service that helps organizations identify and prioritize both structural and non-structural building requirements. VFA’s Seismic Assessment combines the domain expertise of skilled VFA assessors with the use of industry-accepted seismic guidelines to produce a comprehensive, flexible solution that mitigates seismic-related risks and helps meet seismic-related insurance requirements.
